Metal Detecting Etiquette

Author: Outdoor-Fun

It’s the dream of every metal detecting enthusiast to find that big score. Whether it’s a diamond engagement ring or any other piece of expensive jewelry, it’s why people spend their weekends trolling the grass of parks and the sand of beaches. It’s the reason your heart races a little bit faster every time you hear the detector go off. But even if you find a big score, there is still some metal detecting etiquette to follow.

After all, just think how distressed you would be if you lost your engagement ring or some other piece of sentimental and/or valuable piece of jewelry. If you find something that expensive with your metal detector, make sure that you turn it in to the proper authorities. That way, if someone is desperately searching for it, they will be able to get it back. In this way, Famous Trails metal detectors and all other brands come with an unwritten code of ethics. Valuable finds are exciting, but you have to at least make an effort to return them to the rightful owner.
